Richard Long is the new master of horror. This amazing book puts the grim back into the Brothers. It shocks with lurid scenes of sadistic violence, mingled with seedy sex and then makes the reader chuckle with a bout of unexpected humour. No punches are pulled in this supernatural psychological thriller as the central character Paul forces his cruel legacy - the Book of Paul onto the shoulders of Martin, his unsuspecting protégé. The destiny of Paul must be fulfilled. The book is the source of unspeakable power, worshipped through the centuries, and must be protected at all costs. If the reader was buckled into a plane hurtling towards a mountain and had just enough time to finish the book before the crash, they would be a satisfied customer. Overall, the book is a dark exquisite cocktail of mind-altering trips into the psyche of Paul. Let there be more in the next book or I'll suffer severe withdrawal symptoms. 5 glorious stars of spine-tingling entertainment.
